The 2022 Shootout event  featured two sets of competition with open riders in one and Non Pro riders in the other. The top 4 riders in the Classic Open, Open, 25Novice Horse, and 5000 Novice Horse competed against each other and the top 4 Non Pro riders in the non pro equivalent classes competed against each other. 16 horses advanced paying two monies-$2000 to winner plus a Jeff Smith saddle, $1200 to reserve. There was a $400 entry fee to compete. Walt Erwin won the Open Shootout on Sweet Metallic CD16 owned by Mark Senn and Nate Pettitt won the Non Pro on Little Red Corvette. The High Money earners were Craig Thompson winning the Futurity Open on Dual Huntress, owned by Terry Lovelace; Futurity Non Pro Champion was Steven Sodrel on the Assignmenttt; Austin Shepard was the Derby Open Champion on Playful Metallic owned by Chris Campbell; Ronnie Harrison was the Derby Non Pro Champion on Too Hot To Handel.
